Quire Desktop is Quire.io living on your Windows desktop – a real app, not another browser tab. Things happen in Quire, a toast pops up on your screen, one click and you are on the exact task or the exact comment that caused it. That's the whole idea, and it took us 40+ releases to make it feel effortless.

What it does for you
• Notifications that arrive now – assignments, comments, @mentions, due dates and status changes land the moment they happen, pushed by webhooks, not polled every few minutes • Land on the spot – click a toast and you are on the precise task, scrolled to the very comment that fired it. And you stay in Today or My Tasks, no bouncing into the project view • Morning Digest with a window – one summary of everything due today, at the hour you choose. Click it and get a floating list of exactly those tasks, tick them off as you open them • Reminders your way – "5/15/30/60 minutes before", overdue strategies, start-date alerts, Do-Not-Disturb hours with ready-made presets • Only what's yours – limit alerts to tasks assigned to you, and decide whether tasks you merely follow should count • View Bar – pin your favourite Quire views (Today, Overdue, Peekaboo, that one sublist you always open) as buttons in the title bar, icons included • Your sound, your rules – six notification sounds or complete silence • Self-healing connection – recovers by itself after network outages and sleep, so nothing slips through • System tray – sits quietly with connection status at a glance; global hotkey summons the window • Auto-updates – the app tells you when a new version ships and lets you skip one if you like • Privacy first – secure OAuth sign-in, zero data collection, your tokens never leave your machine
Getting started
- Download the installer from the website or straight from GitHub Releases and install it. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning ("Unknown publisher") – normal for a small independent app without a paid certificate. Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
- Launch the app and click "Authorize" to connect it with your Quire account. Done: projects and tasks sync on their own.
