#1165: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed
  • statuses for tasks (non-linear & linear in a project would be great: whether it's a scrum print or a research for a new TV for the guest room, they have different roads, different tempo and incorporating that into one solution would be AWESOME)
  • completing a task without completing sub-tasks: leave the choice to the user

Hi!

  1. Attached. I, for one, am used to multiple "in progress"/"on-hold" statuses, which all end with the closed status (which can be closed with or without success). Also - building workflows can bring order into tasks. It's kinda more for tasks, rather than statuses, but think of it this way: you give someone a task, which has to go through 3 phases (statuses), then it's presented to you and awaits your acceptance (another status/stage of the task), before being closed/completed. I come from ITSM, so it kinda works for us here 😃
  2. Sometimes you need 5 people to contribute into a single task and without all of the completing their sub-tasks, you shouldn't be able to complete it (let's say a milestone). Yet sometimes it's just buying food and drinks for a party and you went out and bought drinks, which was somebody's task and here you can close it alltogether. Or, which can be closer to many, "group project", where there's always THAT guy/girl, who contributes nothing, while the rest does their job 😃

Hi Marcin,

  1. Not quite sure what you meant (non-linear & linear?). A visual example would be nice. FYI, we already have statuses for tasks, including In Progress and Completed. You can add more in the “Board” view of a project.
  2. Let us consider it. Do you have a scenario for such a need?

Hi Marcin,

  1. Thank you for the ppt. It looks like in your example, it can already be in our “Board” view — be it linear or workflow?
  2. Duly noted.
