#1019: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

First, thank you for a greally great app. Have tried many and I really like the freshness, simplicity yet with good features.

Improvements which can help further :

  • sorting by date is great, but it is not so helpful if not also sorted by priority. Because the item order cannot be changed when sorted by date, this is especially important. It is easy to have Urgent priority items below the visible screen size with low priority items above. And then you have to scroll to check.

  • Priority sort should possibly be a default sort order in all views

  • some further defaults on task item creation would be helpful. At least to auto-assign to self. This reduces entry speed. Possibly auto-assign today as an option. But auto-assign self (allowing user to change if neeed) would be a great help

  • iOS app has a bug on sort by date. It works initially but in some cases then crashes the app. When reloading app, it crashes again and again ... unless you are quick to remove the date sort order

  • IOS app should definitely have priority sort as a default because of smaller screen size

Hi Tim, Did you mean you want to sort by Date AND Priority at the same time? Perhaps sort by Date and “filter” by Priority would help? FYI, when you sort by eg., Priority, the next time you access the project, it will still be sorted by Priority. You can multi-select tasks and assign them to yourself at once. You can also type “@yourname” in the task name to auto-assign the task to yourself. I tried sort by date on the iOS app, and it worked fine. That is, I can view the tasks in the sort-by Date task list view. Can you let us know the exact steps you took with screenshot(s)? Thanks.

I understand your comments but I don’t agree What makes so Quire so great is that it works with minimal interface and minimal steps. Your suggestions create lots of steps. So yes I do mean Date AND priority. Although probably what is better is everything is sorted by priority anyway in all views. You have a default sort order already. Just make the default sort order by priority For me it is a nonsense that a task management app puts urgent priority items below low priority items.

I don’t agree that filters are the answer. I want to have an overview. To see all items for eg today but in priority order. Not just urgent today or high today or mine today. The overview is essential for task planning

Filters are useful for specific cases. But not as a kludge to get 50% towards what it should be anyway

About iOS : It is difficult to catch a screenshot of an app crashing ! Yes it does work mostly. But sometimes it crashes and then doesn’t recover unless you’re quick to remove the date sort before it crashes again It may be a sorting problem, or it may be a loss of internet connection not being handled gracefully. But once happened, it doesn’t recover. So maybe necessary to NOT load the previous view when app is reloaded after closing / crashing. Fine to reload it in normal use.

Hope this helps. And these comments don’t mean I don’t like Quire. I am close to making it my default app for tasks
