#1280: Quire Feedback

Also I believe it's a common thing to have an option to mark task as discarded (rejected / canceled / won't fix - just synonyms) Currently there's no clear way to close task with "rejected" status.

The only workaround we have here is to complete task and assign it custom tag like "canceled" or "rejected".

Hi Alex, I have made a note for this suggestion. Thanks for the suggestion.

@crystal kind of like an archive option identifyed by a cancelled status.

Sounds useful and easily doable.

Hi Alexey, I think I got it now: When you add a task to status “Cancelled” in a board, you would like it to disappear from the “Active Tasks” view — just like the completed tasks. Let us consider it.

Crystal, Oct 3, 2018

Yes, I tried! But after setting that custom status task is still unresolved. It remains in active tasks view and also overdue is shown if due date was set.

Cancelling task should resolve it, i.e. make task inactive, same as Completed but not successfully.

I'm also finding this to be a useful potential feature. Our use case is transferring a library of code to a new platform, and we need to differentiate between a Complete swimlane and a Cancelled/Skipped swimlane, while having both types differentiated on the Overview view

Hi Alexey, Have you tried adding a new status called eg., Cancelled in the “Board” view? Then, you can set this status to tasks (aka mark tasks as cancelled). Let me know if this helps.

Crystal, Oct 1, 2018

Hi Zisper, recently, we introduced a new feature called “Peekaboo”. It allows you to hide tasks. You can use the Peekaboo as a workaround for Cancelled status by setting peekaboo tasks to “Never show again”.

I also use this method, marking tasks/items as cancelled if they're no longer relevant but I don't want to mark them as complete. (So if I check my "completed" task log, it doesn't say I've done something that I haven't.) So, I'd appreciate a "Cancelled" status as well.
