#1303: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

touching blank space or the title in the widget seems to simulate a long press and the resize handles appear around the widget.

and yes, for each task, it works. I am pointing out the odd behavior with the title "My Tasks" and the blank space at the bottom below "Later"

that is what happens when I touch the title or white space. it actually is the move function it seems rather than the resize. another touch shows the resize handles.

@brian.mortus I think it could be either you or your phone, I can't confirm the behavior, it only happens if I long press the widget (as expected).

Are you sure this is the only widget having the issue?

Harley Cascante, Oct 12, 2018

it happens with a short tap on the title or a short tap on any blank space. long press makes sense to bring up the resize handles, but a short press could be accidental. I would expect that short pressing the blank space would do nothing, and short presses to the Title should open the quire application.

I have an app called StoCard (for loyalty rewards cards management). The widget for that has empty or blank space and touching that space has no result.

i've tried some other widgets (the calendar widget being the only one with "blank" or "white space" that I could find. I haven't seen this behavior in any other widget. My phone is a motorola g6 running android 8.0 and is up to date.

Hi Brian, Currently, when you short tap the white space at the top, there is no response. When you short tap the white space “on the right” (in the same line) of each task name, we will take you to the Quire app (users may have short task names).

Hi Brian, Yes, when you long tap the blank space in the widget, it would trigger the resize handle. May I ask what you are expecting?

it seems like whatever should do "nothing" with your widget on my phone initiates a long press- and it responds as if i am still pressing even though I am not. This makes the widget think I'm trying to move it (even though I'm not touching the screen). The next touch of the screen then moves the widget to whereever the next touch registers, and then the widget is in "edit" mode (where you can resize it).

Thank you for your help on this. Your team is wonderful and I truly appreciate the effort you take to make your product great.
