The one feature that is holding me back from switching off of trello is a calendar feature.
As a user I would like to see a calendar view
- Has a day/week/month view
- Shows tasks which are assigned to a date within that view
- Allows quick drag and drop of tasks to new dates
- Shows a backlog of tasks which are not assigned to any date
Stretch goal:
- Has shortcut boxes to send tasks to the next day/week/month/year etc.
Hi Mike, Thank you for the screenshots and sketch. It looks like you are looking for a board-like view but based on time (date).

Even a very simplified version of this would be enough for me.
I really appreciate how quickly you guys got back to me! 😃

Hi Mike, Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, a native calendar view is in our plan. 😃 If there is a one example that you like, do share a screenshot with us. Thanks.

This is a veryyyy rough sketch of what I've got in mind. I'd assume that there would be some sort of attribute to items like "Needs scheduling" and if that's set, then it shows up in the backlog. "Schedule for [this week, next week, next month, etc]"

Looks like this is related #{Quire_Feedbacks/653} Calender view

Attached images from my Trello board as an example.
The way I use it:
- Add anything I need to get done to backlog
- Prioritize
- Identify things I need or want to do soon and move to needs scheduling
- Prioritize again (I want to automate this by keeping the same priority from the backlog)
- Schedule items at some point and move them to scheduled
- Switch to the calendar view
- When I start on something, open it and shift it to the in progress list ">" (the shortcut key works, but would be nicer as a button
- Once finished, I move it again to done
What it's lacking:
- an easy method to shift tasks to the next week/month
- The ability to have a hierarchy of tasks (Trello supports checklists, but that's only one level)
