I think reminders need to be a little more flexible past the current global settings. My hope is to be able to right click a task and set a custom reminder for certain tasks. For example, if I am managing a project and want a recurring reminder right now I have to either create a nested task or set the start date pretty early and set it as a recurring task. There are issues with both these methods: • If I create a nested task, when I filter it or see it in my tasks it only shows the sub-task titled "remind colleague to finish this task" without the parent information. • If I set the start date early and set the main root task as recurring, when that project closes out early I have to manually stop the recurring tasks because it would just pop up again next week.
What I really want is to setup a reminder ~1 month before certain projects to follow up with key stakeholders. Then again ~2 weeks before its due date. However, this is only for some tasks, other tasks I only want to be reminded a day before, and some other tasks only 15 minutes before.
Right now I have to select a global setting and create these convoluted start/end times in order to get the correct reminder time for each different task.
In this arena, I feel like Todoist does a pretty good job. It allows you to set 2 types of reminders for all tasks:
- On a specific day and time
- At a specific location
Additionally, if a task has a specific due time, then there is a 3rd type of reminder you can set:
- A certain amount of time before the task is due
On top of that, you can set multiple reminders. And for each reminder you set, you can make it a repeating reminder (i.e. - every weekday at 0900). The flexibility there is just amazing. If Quire could implement that...wow. Amazing.

Just a simple ability to set reminder per task that overrides the global reminder setting would be great. I'd also like to be able to setup recurring reminders for a task UNTIL it is complete.
To be honest you should be able to set multiple reminder times for a task too. Here are some examples of the various options:
Task 1 Multiple reminders: due Jan 30, 2019
- Set reminder for 1 month before due date
- Set reminder for 2 weeks before due date
- Set reminder 3 days before due date
- Default 1 day reminder kicks in too
- Set reminder for 30 minutes before due date/time
Task 2 Recurring reminders: due Jan 30, 2019
- Set reminder for 1 month before, recur every week until due date
- Default 1 day reminder kicks in too
- Set reminder for 30 minutes before due date/time
The ability to be reminded to follow up on projects is key. Right now I am using a work-around by creating a recurring sub-task called "Follow up".

Hi Michelle,
Yes, I would like to be able to set an arbitrary number of custom reminders for each individual task.
Glad to hear that's on the road map. Thanks!

Hi Ckajioka, I see your concerns, I will address the issues with our team and get back to you. If you have a visual (screenshot) of your preferred method of reminders that would be great.

Hi Wayne, currently you can set reminders for:
Do you mean you would also like reminders at specific locations, and have repeating reminders for certain tasks? It is in our plan to have independent reminders for all tasks without due dates. Thank you for your suggestion, we will consider it. 😃
