Hey Quire team, I am using Quire to try and see if it will work for me. Having an actual hierarchical structure to my task lists is VERY helpful to me, however I am also frustrated that you do not allow inline tagging. For instance if I want to write: "#call @Bob re: his latest job", the system will remove the # and @ tags I wrote and treat them as separate external objects, resulting in tasks which end up with: "re: his latest job", which as a task doesn't make sense at all. Plus I love the Click to Search" feature in Workflowy and DynaList. Adding that feature to Quire would be really helpful.
@michelle I intended to write a task that reads: "#Call @Bob re: his latest job."
This format is standardizing across other common communication apps like Slack, Twitter, and GitHub as well as other productivity apps like Workflowy, and Dynalist.
The expected result is to leave the hashtagged tags like "#Call" in the sentence where they become an inline clickable link to a search for all items with that tag. So if I clicked on "#Call" in the task I would get a list of all tasks where I needed to call someone. A real benefit when you have a brief time period to make all your calls.
The same would hold true with the "@" tags which, again, in many other online contexts become links to a search for all items tagged with that person's name. So if I had Bob on the phone I could click the "@Bob" link and get a list of all the tasks that involve Bob.
I personally think that functionality is a rather elegant solution and I am curious to hear why your team members do not see the value of using it.
I presume your team wants more users to adopt your system, so it seems to me you could accomplish that much quicker if you designed your service to work according to these common cross-service standards, allowing users to get the expected results in both places rather than having to learn different rule sets for each.

Hi Geoff, when you type eg., "#call @Bob re: his latest job" in the task name and press Enter, you will see task called "re: his latest job" with tag #call and assignee Bob. If this is not what you want, can you please share a visual example of what you have in mind?
And could you share a visual example of the "Click to Search" feature to help us better understand it? Thanks!
