Hi,
I would like to assign a task to my client just to remind myself that I am waiting for them to answer. But to add an assignee I need to notify someone with an email address.
Is there a way to do this without sending an email? Is there a more clever way to do this?
Best regards
Jonathan
Hi Jonas, thank you for your feedback. Would you mind telling us the reason why you need this feature? And how you would use it? 😃

Hi Jonathan,
Yes, it's not necessary to assign a specific person with an email address when you create or assign then to an external team. However, your client will not be able to access these tasks related to him/her without the email invitation. On the other hand, if you just need to assign these tasks to an external team only for your own reference, then it's a solution. 😃

Hi guys, Got it! In the future, we will let users choose what permissions (rights) they want to give to their members. You should have more freedom then. 😃

Hi @michelle-28, Actually the reminder is not exactly what I have in mind.
- I don't want my tasks to start with : Check if client has answered about this subject.
- I just want the task to be : what the client has to do and maybe a due date for this task. This way, I can visualize that they are responsible for this task, otherwise I have to assign myself for a task that is just to wait for an answer.
I hope this clears the issue. I thought that I might just use a different/fake email address to add an assignee, but if this could be natively implemented that would make it easier

Hi Jonathan, I think I got it but let me double-check: You would like to assign a task (that has a due date) to a person, WITHOUT the need to invite him/her to become a member of the project via email? FYI, in case you did not know, you can add due date to a task, and assign the task to someone. And when you do, that someone will automatically receive an email and also automatically become a member of the project.

Hi Quire, I just came here to create the same feature request. I would like to have the possibility to create 'virtual persons'. What I mean is the following: When I create a task an write '@Joe' and there is no person with this account in my organization, I want Quire to show a Drop-Down with one entry 'Joe (new Person)' like it does for Tags. If I then select this entry, a new Person 'Joe' gets created and assigned to the task.

Hi @peggy, whenever I have a meeting with someone and we had some points to which we want to get back to in the future, I write those points down in Quire. I also convert E-Mails I get to Quire ToDos.
Examples: '@Jon: Give Feedback to his report <01.08.2019>' '@Meggy: Wait for Feedback ...' '@Customer: Send invoice <31.07.2019>'
So, whenever I have a call with someone I just have a look at my list to know, what open points we have.
But I don't want to force everyone to create a Quire account only to assign tasks to them.

Hi guys, When assigning a task to an external team, you don't have to assign one specific person with an email address anymore. This is the behavior I was expecting. Hope this comment helps. Cheers.

Hi Jonathan, It sounds like you would like to set a reminder of a task for yourself. If so, you can create a task with due dates (and time), and set reminders in your Account Settings.

Hi Jonas, you could enter mock-up email accounts, for example: jon@abc.com, but note that you could only add up to 30 email addresses in one organization.

YES

For me the last part would be a problem. I don't want someone outside my organization to see the whole project with every detail.
What Jonathan asks would make it very easy to see all tasks assigned to someone outside my organization. So I would use it like a "tag", but for for assignees.
