#1527: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hello and greetings from Germany.

I use Quire since a long time and in comparison with other so called "task, to-do or project manager" I'm convinced, that Quire is one of the best and for sure the most flexible one I've tried so far. This is why I always come back to Quire, even if I have a look to a new app.

So first, I want to thank you for this great work of yours with Quire.

Now for my idea. Working with a lot of tags for structuring my projects and tasks, I wondered if it would be possible to have a better overview and presenting tags in a more flexible way than just static alphabetically. What do you think about groups for tags? For example you could sort tags like "e-mail", "call", "skype" and "letter" in a group/category/folder called "communication". In my fantasy this could be presented as followed: When adding a new task, there could be shown a list of those tag groups and when clicking on one of them, it would expande to a list, presenting it's tag items to select. After the creation of a new task item and having opened it to detail view, it would give a better structure to see the selected tags for this task in some sort of list with multiple rows. Each row presents the tags of a specific category and when clicking the cmd button, there could be shown the category's name as it is for now with subtasks, showing a link to it's higher level task item.

What do you think about task categories in the way, I explained? Could you implement them in that described shape or another one, maybe easier to resolve?

Best regards, Daniel.

Hi Michelle. Now this is the concept of my idea, grouping tags. I hope, it will do it, because I'm not good in doing such things. ;)

Hi Daniel and Michelle, The feature is actually well described in this Org-Mode article. 1+ for this, too. Petr
