#1978: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Bugs:

  • Copying a task and pasting it in another project trough the right-click context menu doesn't copy task description/notes
  • Task details panels randomly collapse while typing in the description/notes field
  • Tags that have the "Visible to all projects" option checked, are only visible to projects under the same organisation instead of actually all projects
  • Lists in task description/notes field have weird spacing issues, see this feedback task for example

Feature requests:

  • Allow nested tasks in board view, possibly in the details panel like Asana

  • Allow single click on task to open details panel instead of current double-click

  • In task description/notes, remove bottom spacing of nested lists

  • In task description/notes, allow mixed numbered and unordered multi-level lists

  • Allow site-wide default new project settings

  • Add option to select default project view: List or Board

  • Create separate page for MY TASKS instead of nesting it in the side panel

  • In the Sync to Calendar integration, add an option to create a calendar per organisation in addition to the existing options

  • A bit more vague: Expand on the boards feature to make them easier to use for scrum as opposed to be solely focused on the much simpler Kanban

Task details panels randomly collapse while typing in the description/notes field I figured out why this happens! The panel closes when you release the mouse button outside of the task detail panel.

For example, when quickly selecting some task notes, the mouse pointer sometimes ends up outside the panel, when you release the button the panel then closes.

Can potentially be solved by not closing the panel on a mouseUp event outside of the task details panel.

In task description/notes, remove bottom spacing of nested lists See attachment_1.jpg. I mean the spacing between the nested list items and the items directly below them.

Add option to select default project view: List or Board - Our system will remember the view you were in the last time, let’s say you are viewing the board view right now, when you switch to another project, it will take you its board view instead of the list view. I know, but it would be really helpful if the system could remember last view on a per-project basis so that kanban projects always automatically open on board view.

Create separate page for MY TASKS instead of nesting it in the side panel - Actually, it was in the main panel before, but due to a lot of users requests, we moved it to the sidebar. Confusing and messy but can live with it. Still, something like a global smart folder that contains planned tasks across all projects would be preferred.

Expand on the boards feature to make them easier to use for scrum as opposed to be solely focused on the much simpler Kanban - We designed our Kanban board not to restrict to scrum users only. Could you please give us some examples of what features you have in mind? For example, story points, etc. Yeah, story points or time estimates, remove current hard requirement to use (unique) column progress setting, allow column to be marked "done"

Thanks Peggy!

Sorry I haven't gotten back to your previous message yet. I promise to post an update tomorrow (created a Quire task so I won't forget 😜).

Hi, Thank you for taking out the time to send us your feedback!

  • Copying a task and pasting it in another project through the right-click context menu doesn't copy task description/notes You would need to use Transfer. Right-click and click on Transfer to in More. Make sure to tick “Transfer a copy and keep the tasks in the current project”.

  • Task details panels randomly collapse while typing in the description/notes field Since I couldn’t reproduce this issue, please provide the reproduce steps so our developer team could investigate further.

  • Tags that have the "Visible to all projects" option checked, are only visible to projects under the same organisation instead of actually all projects this is because different organizations might have different members.

  • Lists in task description/notes field have weird spacing issues, see this feedback task for example I’ve forwarded this to our team.

  • Allow nested tasks in board view, possibly in the details panel like Asana Some users also requested this, we plan to maybe add a section for task dependencies in the detail panel in the future.

  • Allow single click on task to open details panel instead of current double-click A single click is for inspecting task only. you could hit the spacebar to open up the detail panel.

  • In task description/notes, remove bottom spacing of nested lists Would you mind sharing a screenshot for this? I’m not sure which spacing are you talking about. Thanks so much!

  • In task description/notes, allow mixed numbered and unordered multi-level lists Would you mind sharing an example/ screenshot for this? do you mean you would list like below? Hit four times on the space bar to indent.

  1. list A
    • task 1 i. task 1.1
  • Add option to select default project view: List or Board Our system will remember the view you were in the last time, let’s say you are viewing the board view right now, when you switch to another project, it will take you its board view instead of the list view.

  • Create separate page for MY TASKS instead of nesting it in the side panel Actually, it was in the main panel before, but due to a lot of users requests, we moved it to the sidebar.

  • In the Sync to Calendar integration, add an option to create a calendar per organisation in addition to the existing options Right now, we have an option for My Tasks in all projects. Or do you need to sync all the projects in that organization?

  • Expand on the boards feature to make them easier to use for scrum as opposed to be solely focused on the much simpler Kanban We designed our Kanban board not to restrict to scrum users only. Could you please give us some examples of what features you have in mind? For example, story points, etc.

Hi Peter, update on the weird spacing issue, if you don't want to the lines/each bullet point to be spaced apart, don't put an empty line between the bullet points. Thanks.
