I think that Jira has made it pretty good. Maybe you can do it better?
Tasks that are completed (moved to the completed column on the Jira Kanban board) are sitting there for (default) 14 days. After the (default) 14 days period the tasks are "archived".
I can manually achieve this functionality by setting peekaboo to "forever" and manually peekaboo completed tasks. However, I won't do this since it is too much administration (and I also loose the "peekabooo snooze functionality").
Why not just implement an auto archive feature?!
In Jira, it is really rewarding to see the completed column filled up with issues after hard work and see how they are "disappearing" with time. It is quite obvious what you should do when staring at an empty "completed" column... Do some work!
