Remove or (allow me to disable) Ctrl-D keyboard shortcut

I use macOS and very occasionally Linux, and on both, I use Ctrl-D as forward delete (as well as Ctrl-A and Ctrl-E to go to the beginning and end of the line). The keyboard shortcut for Description is really screwing me up. It already has a shortcut (d), why does it need another?

Still, I am sure there are other people who like this shortcut, so perhaps an option to disable it would be better than removing it completely. However, that would then naturally lead to customizable keyboard shortcuts for everything...
