#2210: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I have MANY projects and MANY tasks. How can I highlight tasks (across multiple organizations and projects) that I want to do NOW or TODAY and thereby capture these tasks in a single cross Organisation, cross Project TO Do list for today? Could this be done with #TAGS? I have been unable to refine select tasks into what I must TRY to do now or today.

Is there any way to make Quire more visual? You have not replied to my last comments and suggestions on the topic of the fact that Quire is more like a Spreadsheet than a Picture or Graph. Quire Boards are a columnar list of tasks pure and simple. Quire Boards are NOT visual. Quire is not a Kanban board as it is today. Am I talking to myself?

PLEASE ANSWER

😃

I don't use multiple organizations so I don't know if it is possible to make " smart folders" across different orgs but you can most definitely make smart folders that encompass your projects and then you can get to "now" by sorting that smart folder by date

Joshua

Thanks for trying to help.

What does GTD stand for?

I am willing to take a look and give your suggestion a try once I understand what you are talking about

Smart Folders are a non starter as long as we are limited to only 5 projects

I apologize for saying that you had not replied to my earlier request to make Quire more visual. I see now that you made an extesive reply and asked 4 good questions which I have already replied to. I think that your team has already done most of the heavy lifting. Maybe now you can focus on a user definable way for users to display on their desktops only those tasks that we want to see today or this week

Here is more correspondence on he topic

Peggy Jan. 24 Hi Kenneth, Smart folder is a “folder” which collects a few selected projects and shown in one view. It’s not an independent project. So what you actually do(add, delete or edit a task) in a project of a Smart folder, is exactly what you do on that project. So like I said, when you delete/remove tasks from projects in Smart folder, the tasks would also be deleted/removed in that specific project.

K Kennethwjennings Jan. 23 And then when I place a TASK in a Smart Folder as you suggested; when I remove the task from the Smart Folder by deleting the Smart FOLDER as I think you suggested earlier, the task will be DELETED right? This seems to be a POOR way to handle this. Surely your development team can FIX this PLEASE. We NEED a cross PROJECT view of all tasks in a SINGLE ORGANIZATION that allows us to select by GLOBAL TAGS as well as the other usual filters already there

The limitation there is I think that when you remove Tasks from Smart Folders you are also deleting them entirely

@joshuarobison.biz In case you have a very limited number of projects and tasks that might work. However currently I have around 25 projects with 500+ tasks in Todoist, and putting all of them in a project called 'Projects' is not going to work. At the start of a new release project (I work in IT) I start with around 1000 tasks and 10-15 change requests which I consider as separate projects, within that release. I like tags, but don't want to tag each task just to make sure I understand where it belongs, because that would be a hell of a job for me.
