Example, I have a project that looks like this
Build House
Build Kitchen
Build walls Build ceiling Build Bedroom Build walls @me Build ceiling
That second 'walls' task is assigned to me, but if I filter the view to just show my tasks, I just see this: Build walls @me
Even if I open the details panel (which I hate to do and do as little as possible) it doesn't tell me its parents. So my only option seems to be to select the task, then clear the filter, and find the selected task in the list, which is quite awkward.
Hit CTRL key and it will show to which parent that subtask belongs to

@adrian.ianas Yes, but each team member has to tap that every single time they open the app, and it creates a lot of noise. I appreciate that it's a "gimme noise, no wait make it quiet" option. That's not the same thing as tasks just being inherently defined by their hierarchy. I don't know if it's something everyone wants, but it's definitely useful for me in situations where there are common subtasks throughout a project.
@joshuarobison.biz That's a cool idea with the zoom. I think you're probably right. When I "zoom" I really see that more like going to a new page than simply moving around the tree. I'd like it to stack up my zooms and filters, then pop them off again as I zoom out. Cool. 😃

A good example of this is in Dynalist, if you do a search, first it shows the results in hierarchy, and then you can choose "flat search" to show it without hierarchy. A pretty easy way to get a feel for the difference.
