Hi,
I'm really starting to like your product more and more in comparison to the other task management tools, thank you for that great work!
One thing I feel would greatly improve our workflow with quire would be an option to navigate subtasks in the board view.
I see multiple options for this and am not sure which one would be the best:
- the zoom-functionality of the list view made available on the board (z-key)
- a hierarchical interactive (tree/breadcrumb) structure in the side panel (right now, if i click and select subtasks in the panel on the right, i cannot navigate back up to look at a different subtask)
- swimlanes: giving users an option to set the "parent" as the swimlane (as a board-wide option) and the "child" as a task. if you then "zoom" into a child, the subtasks of that child become swimlanes and the sub-subtasks of that child become the board tasks... navigating back up could just be a keyboard shortcut...
Hi @lukas.seiler , thank you for your suggestions. Could you please give us a scenario/example for the above suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks @lukas.seiler - I've made a duplicate to this - #{Quire_Feedbacks/3031} - potentially with a quick win

Hi @peggy thanks for the response. Sad to hear that a mirrored board-view is not on your roadmap. For me it is quite contrary: Manually adding tasks (to the boards) is the cumbersome part. I would only ever want mirrored boards, actually. If my boards should only hold a subset of those tasks, I would prefer to handle that either via filtering (for example with todo-tags). But it seems quire follows an entirely different concept then...

hi @peggy sorry for the late response! I visualized the idea in figma:

click on the comment-icon on the top left to see some explanation. I'd be happy to discuss these ideas in more detail, as I think this would be hugely beneficial to the quire workflow!

Hi @lukas.seiler , I will let the know about your feedback! Thank you 👍

Hi @lukas.seiler and @stefan-53 , thank you for your visual example and feedback! It's a really interesting idea. However, your idea is different than our concept towards the board view. To use our board, you would need to select the tasks and manually add them into a board first. We encourage users to only select the tasks that they need to focus on for the short period of time and add them to board. As for now, we don't have the concept of mirroring a task list to a board (that is, adding the tasks from list to board automatically.)
In our current spec, when you zoom-in the 1st level of task in the List view, you will still see the 2nd/3rd.. level of subtasks. However, the zoom-in board idea that you purposed, you will only be able to see the 2nd level of subtasks. You will need to drill down to the each level to see the subtasks. Won't you think it's too cumbersome/inefficient to do so?
