#2603: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Hi guys,

I am a small business owner who uses Trello and Slack for their teams, but wants to get more insight in how other people manage their tasks (I use todoist myself). Asana is too expensive for me, so I really like your approach! In return I hope to give you some feedback which is of some use to you.

Adding a task within a project, I expected it to be automatically placed in a board (in a way, that a board is just a way to view your tasks), but you have to select it. (It does work the other way around, if you add a list to your board, its on your list view). Also the list has subtasks (a feature I really like), but in a board it doesn't show the connection between task and subtask.

If you can choose visual representations from your tasks (or even from projects (in a way it's just a different abstraction), it would be very helpful (it was what made me consider Asana, their overview between tasks and projects looks really nice). In my ideal overview, I would see projects (with assigned people) and connected to other projects (maybe earlier of later in the process). If I click on a project, I would see tasks of this project (also with assigned people) and maybe even with subtasks (also with assigned people).

Hi @diederik-42 , would you mind explaining more on the below?

In my ideal overview, I would see projects (with assigned people) and connected to other projects (maybe earlier of later in the process). If I click on a project, I would see tasks of this project (also with assigned people) and maybe even with subtasks (also with assigned people).

Screenshots would be helpful. Thanks 😃

Hi @diederik-42 , thank you for your feedback.

Our approach for the board view is a bit different. List view is for breaking down ideas, on the other hand, the board view for focusing on the crucial tasks that matter in that short period of time. That’s why you would need to manually select the tasks and add them to the corresponding board. Plus, we allow multiple boards for one project. You could create different boards for different teams or different milestones and stages of your project. Check out this blog post for more on our philosophy.

To see the relationships between tasks and their subtasks, you can toggle on the Advanced mode by hitting Ctrl/ Alt for Mac. Another way is to go into the detail panel, then you will be able to see the first level of subtasks if it has any.

Hope this helps. 😃
