i set a due date+time in android app. in settings i configure it to remind me 30min before... but it doesnt work. notification is most important for me. would be nice if you make it possible to remind multiple times via push and/or mail!
I wish the notifications were local and didn't depend on the servers.
What if I have a shady connection at the time I need the notification? ðŸ˜

Hi @georgh1991 , would you mind sending us screenshots of how you have set the due date/time for your tasks? We will follow your steps on our end and test to see if we could receive notifications. You could send the reproduce steps and screenshots to support@quire.io. Thank you so much for your help! ðŸ˜

I've sent this a while ago with no response. This has been an ongoing thing. We were told that it's fixed but it is far from fixed.
Just to say, mobile notifications are difficult. To actually get them right, the Android developer will need to really know what they are doing I think.
Quire, if you have not hired an Android specific developer yet... maybe...now is the time?
1 We should set the time and it should fire right away
2 You also need to think about battery optimization. Quire reminders could be someone's job. They need to fire even when my device is asleep.

@peggy fun fact: the only thing working is the notification of new comments here (for example yours). It worked via Android system and the bell..

For me it doesn't work, even if I set a notification 24 hrs in future.

Hi @georgh1991 , hmmm... I'm guessing that the reason why you didn't receive any notification/reminder is that you are not a follower of that task. Is it possible you have set a due time to a task that was created by someone else? For example: If I created a task in a project. You set a new due date and time for that task. It is me that will get a reminder for the task when the due time is up. So please kindly make sure that you are a follower of the task you have set a due time and see if you get a bell/push notification and email. Thank you very much.

Hi @georgh1991 ,
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to reproduce this issue on our Android device. Would you mind checking if this notification appears in the notification list with the bell icon?
If it did appear, would you mind setting another due time for another task? Then wait and check whether you get the new notification?
Please kindly help us set up the notification within more than 5 minutes. For example, at 12:00 you can set up the due time at 12:10 for your task and wait to see if the system sends you a notification regards to that task. Our system requires a bit more time to load the data and fire a notification to your account.
Thank you for your help.

@peggy no, the notification does not appear in the list with the bell icon. Also I don't get a notification when i try it with another task
Georg H, Dec 19, 2019
Hi @peggy, Sorry, I am just using the app alone, so I don't have another person who can create tasks for me...
Also I don't understand why I have to follow my own tasks to get notifications!?
Georg H, Dec 23, 2019
For me the problem I found is that the servers take over a few hours to actually sync the notifications which means you cannot set a notification for under a few hours later. They told me it has to be more than five minutes into the future but... I feel like it takes longer.

Exactly!
Why do we get comment notifications (which we don't need) instantly but can't get OUR notifications instantly?
What about making task notifications work like these comment notifications somehow.
Good grief though I wish I could turn comment notifications off.
