#2693: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hi!

Let's say I have two projects. Default new tasks are created in project1, then I edit them, and then I want to move the task in project2. I select the task, hit Ctrl+X, the task gets gray, ok. Then I go to project2, hit Ctrl+V, default options, click on paste button. the task is now imported in project2. I can see the title, the due date, but when I open this task, I can see no description, no comments, well ... nothing.

Then I go back to project1, the task is still there and I should not (remember: I did Ctrl+X and not Ctrl+C). But I'm still happy because the contents: description, comments, are still there.

note: during all this, I stay in the same browser window.

note2: Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V works if I stay in the same project in the same browser window

note3: another bug: if I stay in the same project, but use two browser windows (one where I do Ctrl+X, another where I do Ctrl+V) then I have the same issue: the source task is not deleted, a new task is created in the destination, but without description+comments.

Please notice that it is quite convenient (and time saving!) to have one window to scroll the tasks and move them to another place using another window... As I often create new tasks at the same place(say my inbox), then sort/dispatch and cleanup later.

thanks !

Thanks, @peggy .... well...

ok "transfer to" works ... as a workaround. but it's painful. because transfered tasks are appended in the destination project. so, after transfering the task, I have to go to the destination project, and move them again to the place I want. that sooo many steps compared to a simple ctrl+x/ctrl+v.

also, please have a second look on note3 which seems to be a different problem.

what do you think of this ?

thanks for your help

Hi @xavier.debacker , it looks like you are trying to Transferring the tasks to another project. You could 1) right-click, select "Transfer to" in the More menu. 2) drag the task to the project name at the sidebar.

As for Ctrl+X, cutting and pasting the tasks elsewhere, it's normally used in the same project. When you would like to move the tasks from one place to another.

For note 3, two browser tabs with the same project, cutting (Ctrl+X) and pasting the tasks couldn't be done due to technical difficulties. That's why when you paste the tasks, the behavior is the same as copying (Ctrl+C) the tasks, the source task isn't removed.
