#2762: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hi, I would like to be able to deselect all tasks. In fact, with the current version of Quire, it appears that there is always one task selected (meaning that one task is always highlighted). This can be distracting when looking at the list of tasks. It would be nice if it was possible to remove any highlights (ie. remove any currently selected row). One way could be by clicking outside the task list, or pressing the Esc key. Please let me know if it makes sense. Thanks a lot!

Hi @giovannia , thank you for this feedback!

As this is our spec, so this suggestion probably will not be implemented. We will need to inspect a task, so our system will know what information to show when you open up the detail panel or else it will just be blank (which is just weird...) 😭

Hi! Thanks for your reply. In that case, instead of displaying an empty detail panel, could you please display the following sentence inside the display panel when no task is selected: "Please select a task to display its information here"? Thanks! Best regards, Giovanni

I agree that having a task selected at all times is a bit distracting. I often find myself clicking in the empty space around the task list to clear the highlight and to mentally "exit" edit mode.

Hi Inigo - Thank you for your comment. I will pass your suggestion to our team for more discussion and keep you posted if we have taken this into our consideration. Thanks again!

I absolutely 100% agree with this; it is a major distraction to be forced to always have one task highlighted for no reason and IMO ruins what is otherwise the best UI of any of the many task managers I've tried to date. Please consider implementing the suggestion above ("no task selected") or just disable the sidebar in this case. Thanks
