#290: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Actually, many tasks are not real "tasks". They are just internal nodes. They act like folders. They will never be completed since they are only used to hold other tasks. It will be great if I can mark some of the tasks as internal nodes so they will not show up in the overview graph (The one tells you how many active tasks are left).

The subproject idea sounds awesome. Thanks for telling me that.

We were using GitHub issues to manage to-do lists. Each category had one issue, each reply is a "task", and we wrote steps in the to-do list in the content of the issue. However, I really want to see our tasks or steps in a more organized way. It is annoying to get into each issues to see how is everything going. Plus, issues are called "issues" because they are issues. We were also putting bugs into issues which gets really messy. Then I decided to switch to a professional to-do list app. So I google some keywords like "tree structured", "to-do list" and "app". After a few weird results, I find this amazing site.

By the way, here is how our team decided to use Quire. First, we have a large tree with nodes of all different categories (front-end, back-end, etc) of our project. Anyone decided to work on something just create a sub-task under the category. And then, he (hopefully) will added more steps into his sub-task. Once his whole thing is completed, he needs to mark the root of his task as completed. In the whole process the tree of categories remains same. That is why we really want to be able to mark the always-same nodes in the tree of category as "internal nodes" because they are actually not tasks at all, and they should not be counted in the overview graph.

Anyways, Quire is the best to-do list I have ever seen so far. Really good work plus excellent ideas. Thank you!

Hi Leo, We totally agree. And this is why we will have a feature called "subproject" in Quire Mark II (aka Quire 2.0) which is our No.1 priority at the moment and scheduled for the first half of 2017. The subprojects can serve as folders for your tasks in each project. I trust it will be useful to you and your team then. 😃 And thank you for letting us know how you are using Quire! I am curious, how did you find out about Quire? Have you used/tried any other tool before it and if so, why did you want to switch? Thanks again for the feedback. Cannot wait to hear more!
