I sincerely hope you can make task text editing better than it is now. Than you in flow you constantly add and edit tasks. And in that case it is much better just tap on text and edit it right in the place there you have tapped. In general it is more frequent than you change task text than entering the task in order to edit it. Then I first started to use quire I was struggling with that my tap enters task instead of editing text. And I still struggle with it than I am in flow, I accidently tap to edit and become interrapted.
That is why I think tap to edit text should be prioritized over entering a task. For fast entering you still need to add some UI at start or at the end of a task.
Another way is to add some toggle button near the bottom bar which will switch fast edit or fast enter mode.( But I am personally strongly into number 1.)
Please try above apps and see how useful this particular (task adding and editing) workflow is.
Please let me know if you decide to implement something like this or if it is against yours vision of the app(i hope no 😃)

Variant 3 is to edit by pressing exactly on task's text ( with a little right space reserve if user wants to add cursor right at the end of the text.) And to enter task by pressing on any remaining free space to there right of the task's text.

Hi @epenefrin , thank you for your feedback! We understand the importance of quickly editing the task name once you are in that adding/editing flow. However, please understand that we have detail panels for each task, which allows you to see the descriptions, dates, assignees, etc of the task. We believe tapping once one the task is the best and most intuitive way to enter the task's detail panel. That's why we have another way to access edit mode while in main panel, which is sliding left on a task, then tapping the editing icon. This feature is kind of hidden, but hope that this solves your problem. Thank you.
