#3489: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

When I am on any screen, I would like to add a task not related to any task that is currently selected.

When I press T, then create a new task, the task is inserted beneath the current task that I have selected. The task is "lost" because it is hiding underneath a task.

E.g. I am in a filtered and grouped view. My current tasks are: 1. a. 2. a. b. 3. a.

I want to add Task 4 from the filtered view (with 2.b. selected, for example) But when I press "Enter" or "T" to add a task, it adds it as 2.c. Which isn't what I want.

How can I add a top level task in a filtered view?

Hi @clement.cheung - Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately, in your given example, you won't be able to add a root task while in Grouped view, because when hit T, the cursor for adding new task will be located below 3.a., meaning that after creating the task and changing back to default Active Task list view, the newly added task will be a sibling task to 3.a.

Sadly, the current way to add a root task in this case, is to switch back to Grouped by None first. I understand this can be kind of redundant. I have already passed this feedback to our team. We will discuss more on this issue. If I hear anything, I will keep you updated. Thanks again.
