One of the main reasons I started using Quire was its ability to use nested tasks. Recently I've realised that I have almost completely stopped using this feature. The reason?
I mostly sort tasks by date, and if I'm using parent and child tasks, it is too cumbersome to transfer tasks from one day to another. If I have multiple child tasks, I have to carefully select all of them and then change the date. When selecting tasks, the contrast colors in Quire are not the best, delicate nuances of green are used, so I have to concentrate well. Im usually using the keyboard to select the tasks, Shift + arrow keys, so I need visual feedback to know what I've selected (unlike when using the mouse, which I've learn to avoid in most things because it's usually slower)
If I mistakenly leave some child tasks out, and don't notice it immediately, it can become messy as the child tasks become 'orhpaned'. Same thing can happen if I mistakenly change the date of a parent task and don't immediately notice it. All child tasks are orphaned and no longer look organized.
I'm suggesting you to introduce an option to lock the parent and child task dates. If the parent's dates are changed, it's applied to children and vice versa. They are glued together.
Or make a design change (other than the breadcrumbs feature because it's too small to read) that makes it apparent when a task is a child task...
Or maybe the breadcrumbs feature could be improved somehow. If I'm looking at an 'orphaned' child task (task that has a different date, and thus is disjointed from the parent task if tasks are sorted by date), I have no ability to reach the parent task. I see it's Name, but I can't reach it. If I mistakenly change the date of parent, the child tasks will be orphaned, the hierarchy will seem broken and messy.
Or at least make it possible to easily select all child tasks. A double click somewhere would be great.
This 'problem' is not that easy to pin down, but I've realized I've developed habits to avoid it. Unfortunately, I'm avoiding using child tasks because at the moment it gives me more hassle than utilty.
Ok, you're welcome Peggy!

I also have the same issue and that's starting to make subtasks not so much of a usable feature anymore, due to the fact that they're not dependent on the parent task and can easily dislodge from it by simple mistakes.

Hi. We have a small update for selecting all relevant subtasks quickly: right click on a task and select 'Select all relevant subtasks' or using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + E.

Hi @IvanCajic and @BrunoDSL - thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've gone ahead and passed your example and suggestions to our team for more discussion! We will probably start by giving "how to selecting all child tasks easily" some thoughts. I will send you any updates as soon as we have any. Thanks so much!
