What would really help me would be saying how long each task will take, in days or hours. Do you have any plans for that?
PS I love the product, it seems really good
Please consider that in some methodologies (eg. scrum) tasks are given story-point estimates which may not necessarily be time-related. But then again, I guess story points could also be achieved by tweaking the currently available custom tags...
Cheers!

Thanks Crystal! For me a duration field on each task probably in hours /minutes, (maybe days?) Then I can sum up to see how long my projects will take, and when I can get them done by. (or never get them done by!) Maybe a global setting for how many working hours in a day?... not sure Alan

Hi Alan, Got it! This is what we have been considering, a "time estimate" field for each task and once you select the tasks, you would see the sum of all time estimates. If there is any update on this, I will let you know. 😃

⭐️ We have merged your feedback thread with #2676 to consolidate all similar feedback on one main thread.

Hi asteadman, For now, you can add start date and due date to tasks, and after you sync them to Google Calendar or other, you will see duration in the calendar. We will also add a native calendar view, and a timer in the future. Does any of these help? Or, you would like a field on each task where you can type hours and minutes the task should take? And happy to hear you are loving Quire so far. We would appreciate it if you could leave your thoughts as a review on alternativeto. Thanks. 😃

Hi Emeste, Yes, the flexibility of tags can be used for that. Future subprojects may help too. 😃

Sounds perfect, thanks! I'd be interested to know what the approximate time estimate is for you develop the time estimate field? lols but seriously too! ;)

Hi Adam, thanks for your feedback, we shall consider this!

I'd be using this feature actively! Setting due date is not flexible because tasks depend on each other. For example if "design" is late, we also have to move "development" tasks. That means we have to edit due date for many tasks, or otherwise they won't correspond to real timings.
It would be useful to set task duration and automatically calculate overall duration.

Brill, thanks, I don't expect it to be too soon Love your work! 😃

Wonderful. If you have any thoughts on 2.0, do not hesitate to share them. 😃

+1 for task duration or story points, would be great if they could sum up within the tree.
Adam Nowaczyk, Mar 5, 2019
Hi Alan, Unfortunately, we do not have a time estimate for such "time estimate" feature yet (we have just released the amazing Quire 2.0 btw) but once there is, I will notify you. Thank you so much for your patience. 😃
Crystal, Jun 15, 2017
Hi Alexey, I think if we have task dependencies, then it would make sense to auto-calculate overall due dates (durations) after changing one. 😃
Crystal, Jan 30, 2018
Hi Crystal, totally agree 😃 But just probably task dependencies is not necessary concept (and not that simple), while setting tasks duration is very convenient to get time estimations with start/end dates undefined.
