#4424: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I love what you have created here, it feels very clean and flows really well.

However, I am looking far and wide for a task manager which implements a very specific feature.

I want to be able to dump goals, habits, and other 'never ending' tasks into a bucket/list.

Then on a daily, semi-daily or whenever I feel like it basis, grab tasks from this list, plan my day with them, and then go down the todo list for that day. Then do the same tomorrow, and the day after, grabbing the exact same tasks again and again until I delete them from the bucket.

Think about things like Learn programming for 15m Read a book for 30m Water plants Work out Make some music Research idea A for a bit

A usual habit trackers and repeating todo tasks are not good enough because they are designed for repeating cycles. It is very important for me that I manage when and what I work on based on my feelings when I plan my day. This bucket acts like a list of short/long term goals, a direction for my life. Also a big issue is that most task managers will treat these tasks as instances when I 'plan' them in my 'today list'. So when I mark the todo item complete, the tasks in my bucket list will also get marked complete. This should not happen, The bucket is meant as a template, a source of inspiration, a grounding, a way to keep me on track, while still being very flexible in when I plan my day to day.

I hope it makes sense ;)

Either way, great software you have here. One of the nicest I found so far.

In practice. I imagine something like being able to mark a task as a 'goal-task' This would visually mark the task, perhaps a 50% faded version or the task, and would lose it's check off marker.

This goal-task now only features a 'plan' or 'copy to list' options. Which would duplicate the goal-task into a list (daily todo for example), turning these duplicates into real, normal tasks, so you can mark this one done when you did it. Leaving the goal-task in place for the next time you feel like working on this goal-task.

Hi portalsurfer - Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! I think you have interesting concept here! I too agree that sometimes we need a (personal) space to dump our life goals and be able to plan them based on what I am feeling at that moment. I will make sure to pass your use case and examples to our team for more discussion!

At the moment, I would suggest to create a new project as your bucket. You can duplicate the tasks to (another) day to day to-do list every day. This way, it will make sure that the tasks in the bucket project will still be there and in the to-do list, you can complete them accordingly. I understand that this might be somewhat manual, but it can be a workaround for now. I hope this helps.

Let us know if you have any questions that I can help you with! Thanks!
