Would be great to be able to share customized filters between members of the project or organization. this way having different boards makes more sense
Hi Aien - So the default filter can only be set to a Sublist? I thought you would like it to be set to the project level.
In my mind, this is how I imagine it: For example, if I set: Sublist A; Board view; Grouped by assignee to be my default filter for Project A.
And I invited you into my Project A, every time you open up this project, you will see this filtered view (Sublist A; Board view; Grouped by assignee).
Is this similar to what you have explained above? Or am I still lost? π

Hi @peggy,
not quite βΊοΈ, so let's go with your example:
A project has 3 sublists:
- SL1
- SL2
- SL3
Each project has it's own view:
- SL1 -> Board View
- SL2 -> Timeline View
- SL3 -> List View
Each view has its own filter:
- SL1 -> All active tasks
- SL2 -> All tasks with specific tag(s)
- SL3 -> All tasks grouped by assignee, sorted by status
so the idea is that each member of the project, see the project views with exactly these filters.

Hi Aien - Thank you for you explanation. I would like to double check with you again: Are you looking for way to set a 'default view' for each project? Which means that every time a member access a certain project, he/she will always be directed to a certain Sublist and filtered view; and only the Admin of the project will be able to set/edit the 'default view'. Thanks.

Hi Aien - I'm sorry, could you please explain more on this request?
Are you looking for a way to share the saved customized filters/views with other project member? If so, you can first navigate to the customized view that you would like to share and copy the URL. For example, it may look something like this: https://quire.io/w/Peggy_Meeting_Agenda/27/Weekly_Google_Analytics_Report?sublist=July_Action_Board&group=assignee&view=board
The URL will include the filter/view options that you have chosen, which means when you share it with another project member, he/she will see the same filtered view as you. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Hey @peggy,
A "Default View" might not really be the right term to describe this. What I understand from a default view, is that it's just a sublist with a specific filter which is the first sublist a member lands on upon opening the project.
What I'm saying is a bit more than a default view, would be better to call it "default filter" on a sublist. So basically when a member opens a sublist, this exact filter will be used to show the tasks to this user.
Hope that I've explained it clear.
Thanks for taking the time and answering all these requests π

Hey @peggy,
Thanks for the answer. This actually makes sense. But in general, an administrator should be able to create boards for a project (which is already there) and make a default filter for it, so that every member in that project would see it the same way.
Assuming an organization has +5 projects each containing +3 views, it makes it a bit hard to share and maintain the URLs to each view.
So it'd be great to see that the admin is the one who's responsible for managing those views and filters. Let's say, those that are publicly available to each member.

Hi Aien - Thank you for the example. I think I got what you are describing now.
However, may I know the reason why this feature is needed? Is it because, as a manager, you would like all the team members to be on the same page and share the same view when they enter the project?
Will members be able to change the filter in each Sublist? And what if they close the browser tab and reopen it again, supposedly, the filters in each Sublist will change back to the way you have set them, right? I will pass your example to our team for more discussion. Thanks!
