#475: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

I'm currently not using your app, but I liked it at first sight, so I follow its development. I am happy to share the impression of the update.

I like that the design has become white - everything is perceived cleaner, in a modern way. I like that the text are darker - now everything is readable, especially in contrast to the light background.

About further improvements. An important function of your application is chat. Also we take into account that a significant part of users work in the application from laptops. On laptops, it is important to save space, even if it makes the design less attractive for larger screens. Therefore, it might be better to make the chat more compact. Take for example Slack - there is a very convenient chat design http://take.ms/tjtLw Everything is compact enough, with the names highlighted bolder than the text. I tried to edit your design. Moved the time and made less distance between the comments. It turned out somehow like this http://take.ms/hhunl Almost super, just need to make the name bolder. Because now it looks almost like a comment, it is not good.

Moreover, I have an idea for you. I do not know if you are aware of this, but your application solves problems not only in tasks management, but also in communication in the form of a chat. I mean, Quire competes Slack as well. Personally for me, the big problem in Slack that there all the questions about project are discussed in one or some more chats. But it would be great for each issue or problem to create a separate discussion. This is exactly what your application allows! But in order to use it that way, you need to make sure that there are no unnecessary elements in the window.

Therefore, I suggest adding a switch to the page, by clicking on which you can enable or disable those items that are not needed in case the application is used only for chat. I showed it in the screenshot. Http://take.ms/INGkK Just hide the crossed out places and you will have more room for correspondence. You can hide even more! The result will be something like http://take.ms/hlFaH

I repeat that it's not about removing them forever. They could be hidden only if necessary. The button is applied like this: http://take.ms/S2tjy

I hope you liked my idea. I am open for further discussion with you. =)

yes! this is the number one killer feature at quire!

chat at the right place slack, hipchat / glip are chat apps like telegram, whatsapp, snapchat and so on. just added with productivity feature and integrations.

but unlimited subtask at quire are very useful to keep focus on discussion at the lowest level. you don't need separated chat-room or channel anymore. each subtask are the room/channel automatically. but private chat / inbox would make quire more ❤

Hi Николай, Happy to hear we are on the right track! We were just discussing your ideas today and think it makes sense to make the comments more compact, more like chat. Pretty much like you suggested. 😃 Thanks again for the idea and screenshots! 👍

Hi Николай, Great ideas! And thank you for the mockup screenshots. 👍 We have given some thoughts to "chat" a while back and here they are: Integrate with Slack as many people nowadays are already using it and thus familiar with it. We are also considering to have our own native "chatroom" (even one-on-one chat) for each project (or organization) too. Your idea for switching chatroom on and off is nice, we shall consider it. 😃

Hi sleeping panda, You got it! And yes, we shall consider private chat. 😃

Hi Николай, You probably already noticed, we made the comments more like chat (compact). 😃

Crystal, thanks for the answer.

Perhaps you will not believe me, but what your application proposes for communication right now (I'm talking about creating hierarchies for tasks and accordingly for discussion) is much better than Slack and its counterparts. Yes, there are different integrations and calls, etc., but the opportunity for each task/discussion to create a subtask/subdiscussion is a killer feature, this is the future.

But to bring this to people, to make it a strong side of the product, you need marketing perseverance and faith.

If you make integration with the slack, or if you make the chat something separate from the tasks, then in my opinion, this is a dead-end way. All you need is to change the design a bit and make a button to turn on / off extraneous elements while viewing the task - and the perfect chat is ready!

Thanks again. So far you are on the right track. Good luck!
