#4779: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do
Tag: Feature Request

I want to do some project and backlog planning with quire.

  1. I build up a project tree containing all information of the project. some Items should go in a backlog for planning

  2. I move the items to a backlog-sublist-view. So far so good.

  3. I reorder the items in the backlog-sublist-view regarding to my needs.

Now the original list is also changed in orders. This is ugly because the first list reflects my logical strucutre on work. The second list should reflect the time-structure of work by order.

I need to have to list where the same items can be ordered differently.

Is this possible somehow?

Hi Danielle,

Thanks for sharing your experience and for the suggestion. I've passed the warning popup idea along to our product team. I can't promise if or when changes will be made on this front, but I'll let you know as soon as there are any updates.

This would be super useful! We've had a lot of unexpected changes to the original tree due to the sublist being reordered. If you're not going to change it in the sublist functionality you should probably show the user a warning that moving tasks within the sublist view will change the original hierarchy.

Hi Fabian - Thank you for your feedback! At the moment, it is not possible to create a sublist that the task order doesn't follow the main list's task order.

However, I can understand where you are coming from and I think it makes sense. I will bring your use case to our team for more discussion and hopefully they will take your suggestion into consideration. I will keep you posted once I have more information. Thank you!

p.s. I have slightly edited the title of the thread, I hope you don't mind.
