For many tasks I already know their durations (e.g. to have a lunch with a partner - 45 minutes), but not the dates when they should be started and/or finished (when we both find a time, maybe next week). It would be very useful to have an ability to set "Duration" (in days or hours, like 2.5 hours or 0.5 days) for a task, so I would know how much time I should allocate for it in my schedule, and only then I would be able to say at which date it should started. In Gantt chart such a task could be shown, for example, dimmed and with "today" as a start date, but marked with some additional color/icon (timer with a question mark, just to give an example) that will help me to find such tasks and finish the planning.

Having 'Custom fields' is in our consideration for our future enhancements. I think after it's implemented, it will be helpful to this request. You may create a new column named 'Duration' and enter the days or hours for each tasks.
