#5028: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I've got a repeating task, let's call in "morning routine." It has subtasks like "brush teeth." I want to be able to check off all of the subtasks and then the parent task and have all of it repeat to the next day. It doesn't.

Checking off the subtasks cause them to repeat to the next day. So far so good. However, checking off the parent task schedules "morning routine" for tomorrow and "brush teeth" for the day after tomorrow. This makes no sense at all.

If I set the repeats to Custom Every 1 days Since last completion, the tasks and subtasks roll over correctly to tomorrow. Custom Every 1 day (not Since last completion) puts "brush teeth" on the day after tomorrow. Repeat Weekly and choosing all seven weekdays also misschedules "brush teeth."

This appears to be a bug.

Hi Mbalkenhol -

Thank you for your feedback. This is not a bug. Please let me explain.

In Quire, when you complete a parent task, its subtasks will also be completed as well.

Therefore, for your case, when you complete the subtask, our system has already generated a new subtask set to the next recurring date. However, when you later complete its parent task, the system will complete the subtask again and generating a new subtask, thus causing the date to be pushed to the next recurring date.

We would suggest only setting the 'parent task' to recur. This way the subtasks will not be generated twice if you complete the parent task after closing the subtasks. Hope this helps!
