I set options for my project,
And in normal usage, whenever I set status in list view, it's not applied in realtime of current view. (Just stayed in same status.)
It refreshed just after switching from another view(to timeline and back to list).

If you have this option selected, it means that the status options will also show when you click on the complete circle.
If this option is not selected, then when you click on the complete circle, the task will be mark as completed right away. Hope this helps.
