Would be nice to have '+' button in the top menu bar and a hotkey (e.g. 'T') so I can create a new task easily, when the task list is filtered (in my case, by due date).
Hi Diego, We just added the shortcut βtβ for adding new tasks. π

Hi Diego, Different people expect different things. Some may want it to be due tomorrow; some may want next week.

I personally don't use it - almost all tasks can be assigned to today and re-planned later if needed
Diego Softcontrol, Jul 27, 2017
Hi Diego, That is because more info (eg. task ID numbers) are displayed in 'Ctrl' mode. And fyi, even when you are in 'Ctrl' mode, you can still press 'Ctrl+Enter' or 'Shift+Enter' to add a task or subtask.

IMHO no-brainer way to create a task is a paramount for task managing software. @crystal, I still insist on a button and hotkey to create a task π
Just imagine - press 'T' to to create a new task at root level, with duedate='today'. For example, it will be helpful during calls, when you don't have much time.
PS: Ctlr+Enter is not the same , because it requires to select a correct parent task first.

Does not appear to be working when sorted by due date
Diego Softcontrol, Aug 17, 2017
Ohh such a pleasure, thank you guys! β€

Hi Diego, Got it. Thanks again for the idea. We shall think about it. π
Crystal, Jul 27, 2017
What do users mostly expect then?
Diego Softcontrol, Aug 17, 2017
Hi Diego,
I see. Nice idea! Please let us think about it.
Btw, what if after you sort by Date and press βTβ to add a new task, you can type for example <today> or <08/28/2017> in the task name to set the due date (something we already support)? So to give users the option to add their preferred due date. π
Crystal, Jul 27, 2017
Hi Diego, You are welcome! We did consider this but feel that auto-adding a task with Todayβs due date might not be what users expect.
Crystal, Aug 17, 2017
Hi Diego, When you sort by for example Date, you can add a task or subtask by pressing βAdd+Enterβ or "Shift+Enter", or clicking on the corresponding β+β icon. Would it help?

These buttons don't appear in 'Ctrl' mode
