  • When the function "make a subtask of" is called (rightklick on task or by the context menu),
  • the search field for the new parent should only show active tasks (or provide a persistant parameter to define which tasks are searched)

Dear Peggy, The issue is with selection, not destinction. I have many tasks named similarly, resulting in a lot of scrolling through non-active tasks.

Screenshot: The task searched would be displayed far lower after scrolling: image.png

This example is extreme and for sure, workarounds are always possible. Nevertheless I can imagine that many users want to exclude completed task occiasionally.

Hi Daniel, do you mean you would like the Sublist name to appear above the task name when searching? (A simple mockup is shown below) image.png

Hi Peggy! Thank you. I was/am somewhat inactive due to busy times btw. Hear you and thanks, Daniel

Hi Daniel, currently, the completed and peekaboo-ed tasks will be grayed out in the search field (shown in the below screenshot). In your opinion, do you think this is enough for you to distinguish the active tasks from the completed and peekaobo-ed tasks? Thank you for your feedback in advanced.

Hi Daniel, thank you for sharing the screenshot with us. I have passed this feedback to our team and we totally understand where you are coming from. The team will continue to think of a way to enhance this part. Once we have an update, I will definitely let you know asap! 💪

Very nice thank you. ** Please note that it would be good to be able to specify as well fpr the search e.g. in which sblist the to-be-parent-task is.**

Hi Peggy, sorry for delayed response. It might be better to have an advanced search mask to limit search results. I did not check, but maybe you already plan a further "advanced search" mask.

Update: Suggestion staging/prioritization over time

  1. Solution for "Make a subtask of"-Search-Results -> by default only active tasks (maybe an option to include non-active tasks in -make-a-subtask-search for users with this need?)
  2. Possiblity to show parent-path above all search results (according to suggestions Peggy, see comments, but with parent-path instead sublist [is more consistent with existing implementation in other areas])
  3. Long term plan in the future: Advanced search mask to limit / narrow search results troughout the software (e.g. main search mask/assign to mask/maybe move to mask) + better search results overview --> please let me know in case deep user feedback for and advanced search functionality is whished, I would gladly be availbale as one of the contributors

Hi Daniel, I have good news, in the latest update, we have made a small improvement in our dialog for making a subtask of. We have added an option so you can search for the tasks in the Active tasks or All tasks, etc. Hope this helpful for your case!
