#5244: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed
Tag: Resolved

Steps to reproduce:

  • Go to a project with a task list which is longer than the screen
  • Select a task in the middle of the list and press enter

If the task can fit on the screen while the page is scrolled all the way down, then the page stays there. However, if the task is scrolled off screen, then the view bounces back up to it. This is rather annoying in both cases, and is disorienting.

Thanks for the response! Interestingly, the behavior seems to be different on Chrome vs Firefox. I'm on Firefox, but here's a recording of both. I think one of the things I missed in my original post had to do with task nesting depth, but I'm not really sure.

On Chrome, it seems to jump to the center of the view, but I can only get it to trigger sometimes. I think it has to do with the timing of the scroll action and the level of nesting in the task, but I'm not sure. Chrome version: 99.0.4844.82 (64-bit) Chrome video: https://quire.io/aup/Co/vKE.PT757prLcYEBQA~JYX7D/roqv0hpn/Quire%20scroll%20demo%20chrome.avi

On Firefox, it acts more like I described in the original post, although it also seems that the bug only shows up on projects with deep nesting. Firefox version: 97.0.1 (64-bit) Firefox video: https://quire.io/aup/Co/vKE.PT757prLcYEBQA~JYX7D/rsbq0wm5/Quire%20scroll%20demo%20firefox.avi
