I've been looking at Quire for some time to migrate to from another tool. One of the primary uses for me is to see high level overview of the projects and their overlap. We run multiple projects, they are a bit different from "standard" projects in a sense, when we run a project, it is usually one or two people dedicate to a project. So while there may be many small tasks in he project, a certain person working on a project usually has very limited time to work on anything else. Currently, I can create a smart folder add all project to it and then view a Gantt chart, but with many project and multiple tasks in each, I can see two project at best, because each task under the project is shown on its own line. This makes tracking overlap extremely difficult. What would be nice, if in Gantt view, I could group tasks by assignee (that's already available) and then get a "compressed view". So this compressed view would basically take start time of the earliest task and end date of the last task in a particular project and would then construct a single task, that would basically indicate the length of a single project. The project name could appear on the left had side under the assignee's name or could be written inside the bar. If projects do not overlap, project duration bars could be on a single line (in such case project name will have to go inside the bar), however, if projects overlap - each project would go on a separate line and that would give a very nice representation of overlap. An added bonus would be an option to select compression level. Let's say I have a project like this: L1: Phase01 -L2: Task01 -L2: Task02 --L3: Errand01 L1: Phase02 -L2: Task03 So, compress to L0, would show only one bar, indicating duration of the whole project (that is what I described as a "main" feature request). Compress to L1 would need two bars to represent the project. Top line would still be the duration of the whole project. The second line (if we go by my project structure example) would now have two bars: first one representing duration of Phase01; second - representing duration of Phase02. Bonus Bonus feature. An option to select compression level per project. Hope you like the idea and I'm looking forward to seeing in Quire.
Hi @lcu, Thank you for your thorough explanation. I have passed your feedback to our Product Team, and we will discuss it further.
Yes, you are welcome to share your mock-up with us so that we can better understand😃 . Thank you.

Certainly. So, if someone was to select "compressed view", by default it would show projects with a single bar indicating duration of the entire project. If projects are not overlapping, to make a view more compressed it would makes sense to show those bars on a single line. This "compression level per project" would work similar to how tasks and subtask expansion works now. If a task has subtasks, there is a triangle next to a task, clicking on the triangle expands the task to show it's subtasks. Compressed view would works pretty much the same. By default, it would be compressed to L0 (just project duration), clicking on the triangle would expand that particular project to L1 (showing duration of the whole project and duration of the phases) and so on. Did I make it cleared? If not, I could draw a mock up of how I imagine it.

Hi @lcu, Thank you so much for your suggestions! I will pass your feedback to our Product Team for further discussion and let you know once we have an update.
Also, I'm not quite what you mean by "an option to select compression level per project." Could you please elaborate more? Thank you.
