Laggy grouping - apply later

I just keep opened pinned tab with Quire, not reopening it. URL is just as while navigating with menu. Same happens for mobile app or another account on browser private mode.

It is hard to give reproduce steps as it is randomly appearing rare or often. Once it is enough switch to other project and back, and it always loads saved grouping after time. Once just one time for 15-20 project switches.

Happens in both larger and smaller proffessional organisations.

Could you maybe please explain current mechanism so I could try to gather more valuable info? It loads project and saved filters with async, and apply filter only before project is not fully loaded or within some time or?

Yes, it happens in some days on both web and mobile. I assume it must be just that I am using mobile lte low speed internet as it is the only available in place where I live. Some other cloud apps were even reverting what I write or add sometimes.

It is annoying to need to reapply grouping in these times as then it usually unapply in all my 25+ projects. I used to it, since I believe auto apply solution while loading it later would be much low priority since most of people nowadays have better connection 🙈

Hi Grox, if you switch from project to project (on the same device), each project should always remember the last filter view you were last in.

However, this filtered view won't be shared across different devices, which means if you switch from the web browser to the mobile app, you won't see the last project and filter view that you were in on the browser. I hope this makes sense. 😭

Hello @peggy Yes, I am aware of it (sadly), but it feels like they just disturb each other. I have filters saved separately on both web and mobile, but will try to resave all of them with custom name now, and see if it will occur still

Hi Grox, I'm sorry to hear that you are encountering this issue. We would need some more information on how you came across this issue to help our team troubleshoot.

Please let us know how you have opened up your workspace? Was it through a saved browser bookmark? Or via a URL in the browser search bar? If it's the latter and if the URL includes a filter option (e.g. ?filter=all&tag=Resolved), then Quire won't remember the last customized grouping option that you were in, it will switch to the new filtering option directly. I hope this makes sense.

If this isn't the issue you are facing, could you please let us know the reproducing steps of the issue? Kindly trace back to a few steps before the issue occurred. What you were doing before and what did you click on when the issue happened? Screenshots will be appreciated as well. This information can let our team better understand what might be going on.

A few days ago I edited all groupings to custom name (same everywhere, no special symbols or characters).

At first, it somehow syncs with web-mobile, as while made it on mobile, it appeared after some time on web too.

So far I didn't experience any lags or issues anymore. Grouping seems to load always instantly.

Feels then maybe like it might was auto-name related? I used previously always names like Group: Tag, Group: Due Per Day; Sort Asc.: Due Date etc. They were sometimes a bit different while saving from mobile or web and so on. Maybe also special symbols somehow matter.

Hi Grox, I escalated this to our team and we have adjusted the number of cache data to 40. You can refresh your Quire page to get the newest version update.

This includes projects, organizations, and the user's settings. Take the project filter setting as an example, we will only store data for 40 projects, once you switch to the 41st project, its data will reset and needs to be loaded from our server. I hope this makes sense.

If you still encounter this issue often after our newest update, please kindly let me know. Thank you for your help.

Hi Grox, if it's not too much trouble, is it possible that when the next time this issue occurs, you send us some screenshots/screen recordings of what you see on the web and on the mobile app? For example, the grouping setting that you had set when the issue occurs. Since this is a public feedback forum, please send them to feedback@quire.io. Hi Grox, sorry about the issue you have experienced. I got news from our developer team that we have updated our cache format last week to better improve our efficiency, and it may or may not affected the saved filters in this case.

However, I wanted to let you know our team has made an enhancement today, taking your suggestion in mind. In the latest update, we will load and apply the saved filters when loading the projects from our server. We hope that this update will enhance your current experience. Hi, hard to tell it, but after getting back after 5 days vacations, once again all my groupings are restarted. They also load delayed now, so when switching to project and quick opening dropdown, saved grouping is not here, just after some more seconds, requiring to manual apply.

Is there any lifetime for cache sessions?

Or maybe last (very nice btw) filter changes affected it?

I use Quire only on one browser in my laptop and in app on Android. Didn't use it on pc, but might have been opened in background pinned tab. Opened a few times in mobile, but in that place there were so weak internet connection that anyway nothing was loading usually.

When then opening project, nothing is grouped, and dropdown looks like:

After ~5 seconds when reopening dropdown, custom saved grouping "Grupowanie" is back here:

But since it was delayed loaded, it won't select itself and requires me always to reuse it. And since when issue occurs, it is for all 25-30 projects, it is kind of time consuming.

So initial thing that I meant is if it would be possible to apply filter once it loads. Or even prolong loading of project until filter is loaded?
