#5330: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Hi @nikmedoed, Thank you for providing a video for us. I have escalated this issue to our Dev Team, and our team is now investigating it. Once I have received an update from our team, I will let you know as soon as possible!

Hi @nikmedoed, Since the last update, we have not changed our recurring tasks specs.

To help you further troubleshoot, our team needs a step-by-step reproducible flow from the time you create the task, set the task to recur, including the setting of the start and due date, completing the task, until the steps where the issue happened. The more detailed steps you provided, the more our team can understand and investigate this issue.

Thank you.

Hi @nikmedoed, Unfortunately, our Dev Team was unable to reproduce this 😭 .

From the video you provided, you have set the Start Date on May 11 and the Due date on April 19. Could you please let us know the reproduction steps for this recurring setting? This will be helpful for our team to further troubleshoot.

The main step: having a task with repeat settings before updating the web application.

Of course, they will not be able to repeat on a new task, because it should have already existed. Here you need to analyze the "changes" that were published in the last update.

Has the work with the data warehouse changed in the update? Maybe the processing has changed?

One more time:

  • I had tasks with repetition
  • an update has arrived
  • tasks have stopped repeating when executed
  • removed the repeat setting
  • created a new one
  • the repetitions are back

Hi @nikmedoed, We are sorry that you have encountered this problem. If this issue happens again, you can share a screen recording with us so that we can help to troubleshoot further.

If I canceled the completion of such a task and marked it completed, then it still did not create a new task.

When you complete one recurring task, for example, task A, a new recurring task will be created, which will be task A1. If you reopen task A and complete it again, it will not create a new recurring task. This is because task A1 is still active. If you deleted task A1, reopened and completed task A, then a new recurring task will be created.

Regarding My Tasks Timeline view freezes, could you please specify what changes you make in the tasks that cause the freeze? You can describe the reproduction steps and also a screen recording so that our team can visually understand and troubleshoot better.

Thank you.

Hi @nikmedoed,

We currently don't have support in Russian, so please let me know if I misunderstood your feedback.

I tried to reproduce this, but unfortunately, I was not able to. Could you please provide the below information:

  1. Could you please give an example of which tasks stop recurring?
  2. It will be helpful if you can let us know your recurring task setting to help us troubleshoot better.
  3. The project URL
  4. As we need to access your task/task activity log to find out what's happening, please kindly write in the email stating that you give our Developer Team permission to access your project.

Regarding the interface being slow, could you please share which project (project URL) has this issue and how approximately many tasks are in the project?

You can share screenshots for us to visually understand the issue. If you consider the information that you will be sharing sensitive, you can send it to info@quire.io. We will continue to assist you via email. Thank you very much for your help.

Hello.

I would not really like to open access to personal tasks. In addition, I have already updated the repeat settings for all tasks, and they started working again. I had to remove the setting from everyone and add it again.

What happened: I conduct personal affairs (household) and several personal projects in quire. Everyday tasks need to be repeated, for example:

  • "service the robot vacuum cleaner" once every 4 days since the last completion
  • "water the orchid" once a week since the last completion
  • "select categories of increased cashback" every 30th day of the month

After the update 2-3 weeks ago, the repetitions stopped working out. No new tasks were created. That is, I completed the tasks, and they disappeared with the ends. It took digging into the history and restoring all such tasks. Their settings have not changed in any way. But they just didn't work. If I canceled the completion of such a task and marked it completed, then it still did not create a new task. But when I deleted the old repeat settings and re-entered them (exactly the same), everything worked out. At the moment, I have replaced all the settings, and all the old ones, so it's unlikely that my data will give you anything.

Relatively slow operation. The problems start in the Gantt view in all sections, but extremely strongly in the "my tasks" section, which combines all tasks. Filters don't help much. When changing any one task (date or other), the application freezes. I assume that because of the processing of all tasks at once, including from big history.

It would be good for "intermittent" tasks not to create a new entity every time, but to be able to precisely change one task and keep a log of execution inside it. You already have a history of changes inside the task, this is essentially the log. Make a check mark for the user "create a new task every time". If not installed, then the task simply changes the due date instead of cluttering up the history.

It would also be cool if changing one parameter did not cause a recalculation of the state for all tasks in the general list. It may still be the case, but the brakes and the behavior of the application suggest the opposite.

I found yet another task with broken repeat settings https://youtu.be/kFoxOMJXn3s
