Display of tasks very hard to use

Quire has gotten to be very hard to use. I have been trying to display only tasks that are current. Initially going in the tasks were visible. I tried using the filter and then only completed tasks were shown even though I did not select for showing the completed tasks. Everything I tried in the filter would not show a single active task. I tried to remove any filter and still nothing would show. This is a system that I would love to use more, but something has happened that is not allowing this to be useful at all. If you have any suggestions that will make this really simple to use, please let me know. Otherwise, I will have to discontinue the use of it for another system that I can understand.
