#5737: Quire Feedback

I'm loving the new sections functionality! It's just a shame that they disappear as soon as I apply any sorting or grouping to my list. Likewise, they're not visible in the sublists or other views besides the List View.

Thus, I wish they'd either stay (in some form) when I apply a grouping or sorting, or, even better, can be defined as a grouping/sorting criterion (like e.g. sublist, status, or priority). The same goes for the sublists and other views besides the List View.

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for the awesome update - it works perfectly!

Also, I understand sections would not stay intact when grouped or sorted (seems only logical to me). Which is why, I think having them available as a grouping/sorting criterion would be nice. And you're right, they don't make much sense in Calendar view, since they have no date. Looking forward to future updates and keep up the excellent work! 😃

That's weird... I'm using Google Chrome Version 112.0.5615.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) (Chrome says it's up to date) I also just relaunched Chrome but the issue persists. I don't think I have applied any other filters: image.png Interestingly, it only occurs in my sublists. In the main list it works.

I am not sure I understand how this is working at the moment because it appears even more confusing now as multiple instances of the same sections are appearing now when sorting tasks especially since I have subsections within them as well. For each task with a date within the sections the sections are also repeating as many times.

Yes, now it works perfectly, thank you!

Hi @K_Henggeler, Thank you for your feedback! Section is available in Board view too. You can use it by shuffling your Board by section. You shall be able to see sections in the sublist as well.

As sections cannot have dates, it will not be shown in other views, such as the Calendar view.

Currently, we do not support group or sort by section, and sections will not stay intact when in grouped or sorted. Regardless, I will bring this to our Product Team and take it into consideration. I will keep you posted if we have any updates!

Hi K Henggeler,

Somehow it doesn't seem to integrate with the grouping functionality though...? As in: if I shuffle by section and then apply grouping by priority, all my tasks disappear... Maybe this is a bug?

I tried to reproduce it, and after I applied group by priority, the columns are grouped properly.

I want to double-check, have you applied any other filters? Also, did this issue occur in same list or in a sublist?

Additionally, may I know which browser and version you are using? If you haven't updated your browser to the latest version, please do so and try again to see if the issue persists.

Hi K Henggeler, Our team has resolved this issue, kindly refresh your Quire project page and try again. If you still experience this issue, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you.

Hi Golda

Oh, thanks, I've must have missed that somehow! Somehow it doesn't seem to integrate with the grouping functionality though...? As in: if I shuffle by section and then apply grouping by priority, all my tasks disappear... Maybe this is a bug? Here's some screenshots: image.png (Teaching, Research, Admin are my sections)

And after I group by priority: image.png

It would be good if one could sort by date or priority and the tasks maintain their hierarchy within sections. This way it would be easier to see things in perspective.

Vikramjit Bora, May 6, 2023

Hi @K_Henggeler @VBora , I have an exciting update! Now sorting tasks will maintain the task hierarchy within the section✨ Please let me know if you have any questions 🙌

Golda, May 18, 2023

Hi Vikramjit, When you apply the filter to sort, we will sort by the tasks. If the tasks are underneath a section, the section will also appear.

For example, you have three tasks with different due dates under the same section. After you sort by date, the section might appear repeatedly.
