#6250: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I am using the Google Two-Way Sync plugin.

Current Behavior: Updating a synced task in Quire forces the Google Calendar task color to change to the default calendar color.

Desired Behavior: If a synced task is updated in Quire, the sync plugin should not attempt to change the Google Calendar task color.

The context: I have a Quire project synced to a Google Calendar, whose default color is blue. Some of these tasks I have modified the task color in Calendar to be orange so that I can more easily distinguish certain tasks. I modify these tasks in Quire (i.e. change status for example), but this causes the tasks I've manually changed to orange in Calendar to revert back to the default blue. Since an event color is a Calendar concept, I would not expect updating a Quire task to result in the Calendar event color to change.

Hi Chris,

I've updated with the Dev team and they did not come up with a final solution on this matter. I've flagged this issue again and when they have any updates, I will let you know.

@vickyp A little more info I've noticed: the behavior described above appears to be happening for recurring tasks only. That is, when I Archive or Complete a recurring task, then all calendar events in the series in Google will be overwritten, specifically the event color (resets to the default calendar color) and event location (is cleared out) fields. As described above, the desired behavior would be that the sync plugin does not attempt to modify any existing Google event fields that are not synced to a corresponding field on a Quire task.

Hi Chris,

I've updated the Dev team and we will have to wait a bit for their updates. Just to share with you that our Dev team is a bit overwhelming with the new feature development so it might take a while for them to get back to me, but no worries, I will keep you updated! Thanks for understanding!
