#6251: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I have created a daily task that should be done every day. Let's say the current due date for this task is Jan. 29, but today is Jan. 30 so that task is now overdue. When I now set the status to completed, a new task is automatically created, but the due date is Jan. 31. I would have expected that the newly created task to have a due date of Jan. 30 because it is 1 day after the due date of the last task.

I know there is a checkbox for "Since last completion", which is currently always disabled when I set the daily frequency to 1 day. If I had the option to check this box, then the aforementioned behavior would be expected. Can you please clarify (1) the unexpected behavior I described above and (2) whether this checkbox is supposed to be disabled and if so, why?

Hi, The current behavior for recurring tasks is that when you complete an overdue task, the new task will be scheduled for a future date. This is expected, as our system does not generate due dates in the past.

However, if you set a specific time for your daily recurring tasks and complete them before they become overdue, the new task will appear with today's date. For example, if a task was due yesterday at 5 PM and you complete it today at 1 PM, the new recurring task will be scheduled for today at 5 PM.

The Since last completion checkbox is disabled when setting a task to recur daily by one day because the result will be the same with the current system.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
