Hey guys. Hope the project grows well. Still without much of my help as I'm on free tier. But there is an issue I would like to address: in every text editor or outside of it (at least in Windows) if one selects some content (usually text) and then pastes something from the clipboard, the selected content is being replaced with clipboard content. In Quire it adds up to the beginning or the end point of the selection (not sure). Is it a deliberately chosen behavior, thus a feature, or a bug? Best wishes.
Hi,
Yes, this behavior is currently expected. When copying headings or other block elements, the editor treats them as blocks. Pasting content with multiple line breaks will add the content instead of replacing the selected block, which is why the H2 appears duplicated in your case.
We understand that this differs from the behavior of many other editors and can feel unintuitive. We’ll share your feedback with our team for further review and discussion on possible improvements.
Thank you for your feedback, and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Update: pasting plain text to a selected existing plain text seems to work fine. The problem occurs when pasting formatted text to formatted text. The fastest way to reproduce: mark a line in a task description as H2 Title. Select it, copy it, then, without removing selection, Paste. Usually nothing should change as it writes over the selected part, but here it adds up, so there are now two H2 title lines.
