Changing the Peekaboo reshow time of a task that is already hidden has no effect when done through the API / Quire MCP. The call reports success, but the task keeps its original reshow time.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a new task.
- Hide it with Peekaboo until 2027-01-04 via the API (Quire MCP
set_task_peekaboo,reshowAt: 2027-01-04). Reading the task showsreshowAt: 2027-01-04T00:00:00.000Zas expected. - Call the same operation again with
reshowAt: 2026-11-02(earlier date). The response says "Task hidden until 2026-11-02". - Read the task again.
Expected: reshowAt is 2026-11-02.
Actual: reshowAt is still 2027-01-04; archivedAt is unchanged.
Notes
- Same result with a later date (2027-02-01) and with different ISO formats (
2026-11-02,2026-11-02T00:00:00Z,2026-11-02T06:00:00.000+01:00). - The first hide on a visible task works correctly; only re-scheduling fails.
- Unhiding via the API is not supported either (the MCP tool references zkoss/boeneo#24491), so an API client has no way to bring a hidden task back earlier. The only workaround is the web UI.
- The success message is misleading: clients cannot tell that nothing changed without reading the task again.
Request: apply the new reshow time when the task is already hidden (or return an error), and support unhiding via the API.
Follow-up: the web UI did not offer a way to change the reshow date of the already-hidden task either. The only option available was to reshow it immediately. So in both the API and the UI, an existing Peekaboo can only be cleared, not re-scheduled. Being able to pick a new reshow date for a hidden task would help in both places.

Hi,
This has been fixed in the Quire MCP. You can now call
set_task_peekabooagain with a newreshowAtto change the reshow time of a hidden task, and usehide: falseto unhide it.If you’re using the API directly, you can unhide a task by sending
{ "peekaboo": false }. To change the reshow time, you’ll need to unhide the task first and then hide it again with the new date.In the web app, a hidden task can currently only be reshown, not rescheduled. We'll pass your request to our team and let you know if there's any update.
