#6607: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do
Assignees: Golda

In Quire MCP, move_task accepts a task URL for taskId, but the same kind of URL (or a #id) passed as parent fails with a 400 error that names a different parameter.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Take two tasks A and B in the same project.
  2. Call move_task with taskId: https://quire.io/w/<project>/<A> and parent: https://quire.io/w/<project>/<B> (with or without position: after).
  3. Repeat with parent: "#<B>".

Expected: task A is moved under (or next to) task B, the same way taskId resolves the URL. Actual: 400: Task not found for the 'task' query parameter. Make sure it is a valid OID. Passing B's OID as parent works.

Notes

  • Across our AI agent sessions from 17 to 30 Oct 2026 this failed 29 times (28 with a URL parent, 1 with #id), while 74 calls with an OID parent succeeded.
  • The error mentions task, but the tool parameter is parent, so agents keep retrying the URL form instead of resolving the OID.
  • bulk_move_tasks already accepts #<id> for its task anchor (verified with dryRun today), so single and bulk moves behave differently.

Request: let parent accept the same forms as taskId (OID and task URL, ideally also #id like bulk_move_tasks), or at least name parent in the error and say that a URL is not accepted there.
