#6608: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

When a task is created with a styled name such as {font-size:18px;color:#ffcf78; | Patch}, Google Calendar Instant Sync creates the calendar event with the raw markup as its title. Editing the task name later fixes the title.
Steps to reproduce
- Enable Google Calendar Instant Sync for a project.
- Create a task with a due date and a styled name, e.g. via the API:
name: "{font-size:18px;color:#ffcf78; | Sync test}",due: 2027-01-15. - Open the synced Google calendar.
Expected: event title Sync test.
Actual: event title {font-size:18px;color:#ffcf78; | Sync test}.
Notes
- Reproduced on 31 Oct 2026 with a fresh test task. After renaming it to
{font-size:18px;color:#ffcf78; | Sync test B}, the event title correctly becameSync test B, so only the first event creation uses the raw name. - The same first sync created the event with default reminders, while the rename switched it to no reminders (
useDefaultReminderstrue → false). - In our project calendar, 3 of the 5 most recent synced tasks with this name show the markup; all were created already styled and never renamed (at least one confirmed as created via the API). We have not checked the web app's Duplicate action.
- Possibly related to the resolved #2454 (formatting synced to Google Calendar), but this case happens only on create.
Request: use the plain-text name when creating the calendar event, the same way updates already do.
