Moving the toolbar to the left

The toolbar is in the far-right corner, which makes using it somewhat awkward - there's a lot of mouse travel, and there's just no reason to keep it there and waste the white space in the middle of the window. I have to reach across my desk with the mouse to click "+" for a new task :-) I propose this design. This still keeps the traditional "Bell" and "My Account" icons in the upper-right corner.

And/or, use the white space for an always-visible search field. This will encourage easy access to various items, until that space is needed for the tag cloud or list actions like Expand all, Collapse all etc that I suggested :-)
