How to import your Producteev tasks in a somewhat elegant way

I have spent a bit of time trying to get our tasks across into Quire. I have got most of them done now and think i have got my conversion process working fairly smoothly. I have converted a couple of thousand tasks and only a couple gave me issues. (Quire stopped me one night for importing too many too - a lot of import then delete to try and work out why things were going wrong)

I have attached a Google doc outlining the process. There are a few nuances with the Quire import that took a while to work through.

I ended having to put the Assignees and Tags into the Title of the task. But that created another problem because those Tags are not processed when imported (a bug i think). You have to click into them and then they magically work. AutoHotKeys saved me an hour of pushing Enter and Down Arrow 4000 times.

Comments and Subtasks get turned into a formatted table in the Description. It looks fine and about the best you can do based on Producteev's export.

What i have done is rough - i just did it to get my tasks in. So you might need to do some work on it yourself to get it to work how you need it. Hopefully it helps.

PS: I see that Quire now handles the Status of the task on import. That wasn't possible when i started a few days ago. You dont really need that feature - just do your import in two batches.
