I would love keys like hjkl for movement, / for search (ctrl+s is a weird choice for this as it usually means save), G and gg for top/bottom etc. Maybe you could add this as an option in the preferences?

I just would remap the existing ones to vim shortcuts, like up/down to k/j, etc

Hi guys, From the sound of it, it could be foreign to users especially those that are not tech-savvy. I will pass your suggestion to the team and let you know if anything.

In addition to the OP's suggestions, I would also like to add the following:
ofor inserting a new task after the current task andOfor adding beforeifor editing the current taskvfor selecting tasks- A new shortcut for changing status?
Monish, Mar 15, 2021
Hi @Monish - Thank you for your suggestions. Please see the shortcuts that are available now:
↵to enter a new task after the current selected taskF2or⌥+↵to edit the current selected task name/to quick assign the status for the current selected task
I hope the above helps. You can learn more keyboard shortcuts by pressing F1 or check out our whole shortcut cheat sheet here: https://quire.io/guide/keyboard-cheatsheet/
At the moment, we don't have a shortcut for adding 'before' a selected task. I will pass your suggestion to our team and keep you posted if I have an update, thanks!

++++1 is it possible to define one's own shortcuts at the meantime?
Sebastian Peischl, Aug 29, 2019
Hi Sebastian, out of curiosity, what kind of shortcuts would you like to define on your own? 😜

+1 this
The regular already present shortcuts can still be the default set, but vi-like is being used more and more everywhere because of it's benefits, an option to enable this mapping is a win-win.

A lot of software has this (in a rudimentary way): e.g. gmail, facebook let you navigate using 'j' and 'k'.
even if this doesn't get implemented vim-style, more shortcuts would also be awesome - for example to add tags, to navigate the sidebar etc. essentially it would be awesome to never have to use the mouse when using quire ;)

Hi Sebastian, this is noted, we shall think about this, thank you for your feedback!
