Replying to EPP: Hi! Just want to say, I work in Europe and I use Quire for all my personal stuff and I would love to use it with colleagues at work but if the data is stored in the US that won't be possible. Ig there could be an addon we can pay for to comply to GDPR that would be amazing.

Hi,

Thank you for the kind words, and for sticking with us since the early beta. That genuinely means a lot.

On the data question, storing data in the US doesn’t rule out GDPR on its own. Quire’s data is hosted on AWS in the United States, and GDPR allows transfers like this under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). This is the same mechanism many US-hosted tools rely on, and it applies to every plan, so there’s no add-on needed.

Some companies do require data to be stored within the EU, which goes further than GDPR itself requires. If that’s the case for your team, let us know, since it helps us understand what teams need.

I started using quire since the early beta and I really love it still even with all the changes, it's a great product :)

The issue I see is that the US government can decide to look at the data at any time, which would result in a breach of privacy.

But you are right that my employer would ask for more than GDPR compliance. https://www.york.ac.uk/it-services/tools/computing-risk-assessment/

Hi Zohair, Traffic on Quire runs on SSL/TLS, the most powerful and trusted protocol for secure communications. Your data is stored in the United States by Amazon Web Services, and is backed up every few hours with copies stored in an off-site location for disaster recovery. Let me know if this answered your question.

Encryption of the data residing in the tasks

Zohair, Dec 25, 2018

Do you plan to add any "encryption" ?

Zohair, Dec 24, 2018

Hi Zohair, Can you please give us an example of what you meant by "encryption"? Thanks.
